Winter Park Wraps Up Season with High Attendance

KEWAUNEE COUNTY, WI – Winter Park is now closed for the season, but Kewaunee County is pleased to share that we had welcomed 12,302 visitors for snow tubing, skiing and snowboarding to the park during the nine weeks that it was open to the public, making the 2021 season, the third highest attendance on record.

The Kewaunee County Promotion & Recreation Department reports 11,064 people spent time snow tubing at the park and 1,238 winter recreation enthusiasts went skiing and snowboarding from January 7, 2021 to March 7, 2021.

“We had excellent attendance this season at Winter Park despite that we had a late start, and we’re pleased that Kewaunee County was able to offer safe family fun while we continue to navigate a pandemic that has left little to do except for outdoor recreation,” said Dave Myers, Kewaunee County Promotion & Recreation Director.  “We greatly appreciate the patience of visitors as the park was quite busy at times as we had multiple weekends that people had to wait for the snow tubing hill, but in all, it was much fun.”

And, along with Winter Park closing, the Dana Farm Ice Skating Rink is also closed for the season.  Kewaunee County would once again like to thank Kewaunee County Farm Technology Days 2017 for their generous donation that made FREE ice skating possible as dozens of visitors took advantage of the outdoor rink during its first open season.
