Winter Park Ends Season with Record Breaking Attendance

KEWAUNEE COUNTY, WI – Winter Park has closed for the season with its highest attendance on record.  The Kewaunee County Promotions & Recreation Department is excited to share that the park was able to welcome 16,498 visitors for snow tubing, skiing and snowboarding during the 11 weeks that it was open, which surpasses the previous attendance record by more than 2,800 additional guests.

The latest attendance totals show 14,479 people spent time snow tubing at the park and 2,019 went skiing and snowboarding from December 28, 2021 to March 13, 2022.

“It’s always exciting for Winter Park to have record breaking attendance as there is a lot that goes into getting the hills ready.  We not only had some very busy weekends, we also had some very busy weekdays with private parties on the snow tubing hill,” said Dave Myers, Kewaunee County Promotions & Recreation Director.  “We want to thank our dedicated Kewaunee County Promotions & Recreation Department staff and the Winter Park Association volunteers for all of their hard work that went into opening and operating the park this season."

The previous Winter Park attendance record was the 2018-19 season, when 13,674 visitors came to the park during the 12 weeks that it was open.

Along with Winter Park closing, the Dana Farm Ice Skating Rink is also closed for the season.  Kewaunee County would once again like to thank Kewaunee County Farm Technology Days 2017 for their generous donation that makes FREE ice skating possible as dozens of visitors were seen out on the rink weekly during its second open season.
