Bike Repair Stations Built by Eagle Scouts on Ahnapee State Trail
KEWAUNEE COUNTY, WI - Have you noticed the new bike repair stations along the Ahnapee State Trail in Kewaunee County?
The Kewaunee County Promotions & Recreation Department would like to THANK the Eagle Scouts with Boy Scout Troop 1042 for the eight new stations placed near parking areas and trailheads, which include some County parks like Bruemmer Park Zoo as well as Blahnik and Reckelberg parks.
Those who need a quick fix will find things like wrenches, screw drivers, and a small tire/air pump on each station.
The Ahnapee State Trail is a "rails to trails" conversion, and Kewaunee County has approximately 34 miles of the trail that connects Kewaunee, Luxemburg, Casco, and Algoma to Sturgeon Bay. It is 8 to 10 feet wide and has a firm limestone surface.
This trail is open to hikers, bikers, horseback riders during the spring, summer and fall months and in winter its occupied by cross country skiers and snowmobilers.
The Ahnapee State Trail is free to use.
It is maintained by the Kewaunee County Promotions & Recreation Department as well as the Friends of the Ahnapee State Trail.
