The Algoma Venture Academy (AVA) and the Algoma Area Education Foundation (AAEF) are excited to host the annual Paddle by the Lake Pickleball Showdown!

This community event brings players of all levels together for a fun, friendly, and competitive day of pickleball — all while raising funds to support local student programs and scholarships.

This is a doubles tournament, and teams must register together.  All divisions will play in a round-robin format, so every team is guaranteed multiple games.

Divisions:
Beginner – You’ve only played a few times and are still learning.
Intermediate – You play often and feel confident on the court.
Senior (55+) – You’re 55 or older and enjoy playing pickleball in a fun, competitive setting.

NEW for 2026: Dynamic Duo Costume Contest!
Come dressed as your favorite dynamic duo — peanut butter & jelly, Mario & Luigi, salt & pepper, Batman & Robin, or any iconic pair.  Have fun with it!  Prizes will be awarded for creativity.

Event Schedule:
Doors open: 7:30 AM
Players meeting: 7:50 AM
Play begins: 8:00 AM

Registration:
Spots are limited and registration is first-come, first-served.
Registration closes Saturday, February 7, or earlier if divisions fill.
