Kewaunee County Promotion & Recreation is Opening Winter Park

KEWAUNEE, WI – It’s time to welcome skiers, snowboarders and snow tubers to the hills of Winter Park, N3751 Ransom Moore Lane, Kewaunee for the season.

The official opening of Winter Park is scheduled for Saturday, January 7th at 10:00 a.m.

It took approximately 10 days with just the right weather conditions to make enough snow to groom the terrain for the thousands of expected visitors at the park.

"Our tubing hill with a 70’ vertical drop and six-lanes definitely gets the most action.  But, we also have five runs for skiers and snowboarders, some with a 160’ vertical drop that are becoming more popularity year after year.  And, new this year, we’re encouraging visitors to test out our beginner-friendly ski hill for the very first time," said Dave Myers, Kewaunee County Promotion & Recreation Director.

It’s not just all about the slopes, Winter Park has plenty of room for snowshoeing on the trails surrounding the park, as well.

"This entire operation at Winter Park is absolutely amazing.  There is so much to do here for all ages, it is unbelievable.  If you’ve never been here before, come on out and enjoy the day.  Walking around and going up and down these hills is a great way to get in some exercise and stay true to that New Year’s resolution, aside from having a lot of fun," said Jennifer Schneider, Kewaunee County Tourism Coordinator/Public Information Officer.

For updates on Winter Park conditions, visitors can call the Kewaunee County Promotion & Recreation 24-Hour Hotline at (920) 388-7199.
